Evidence

The use cases and business cases rest on a body of research drawn from authoritative international sources. This section publishes the evidence — the headline figures, per-country data, and sources — behind the value the specification claims.

How the evidence fits

The framework is layered, each tier with one home:

Method — how we calculate → Assessment Methodology (formulas, shares, defaults).
Evidence — what the research shows → these pages (headline figures, per-country tables, sources, charts).
Data — the raw material → the project repository’s research/ folder (full datasets, derivation scripts, working notes).

The per-country tables published here are the canonical published output; they are generated from the raw datasets in research/ (which hold the inputs and the scripts that produce them).

What’s here

Trade Data by Country — GDP, exports, imports, average tariff, and border-clearance time for 210 economies. The base denominator every value lever divides into.
Revenue Integrity — customs leakage (②) and domestic tax gaps (③) by country, with regional gap averages.
Trade Finance — finance gap and digital- addressable share by country (④).
Cost of Trade — ad-valorem and absolute trade cost by economy (①).
National Productivity — administrative burden and digitally-addressable saving (⑤ cross-check).
Compliance & Assurance — the cost of assurance and what algorithmic auditing changes (⑦).
Organisation Benchmarks — org-size bands + ratios for bottom-up firm-level cases (trader, logistics, bank), with the incentive parameters that drive adoption.

How it feeds the business cases

Light mode uses your attached document if you provide one; otherwise it can fall back to your country’s row in these published tables, and to income-band defaults only as a last resort.
Full mode reads the raw research/ datasets directly for exact, cross-referenced figures.

The research draws on the World Bank (World Development Indicators), IMF, OECD, UNCTAD, WTO, WCO, ESCAP, ADB, IFC, the ICC Digital Standards Initiative, GLEIF, and others — cited per figure on each page and in full in the repository’s research/ folder.
